Regular Season Round 30: Seoul Thunders - Seoul Knights 75-79

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Seoul:Knights (#1) and Samsung Thunders (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for Knights, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Samsung Thunders challenged much higher ranked Knights giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by four points 79-75 . Seoul Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Youngjun An (195-1995) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Knights' coach Hee-Chul Chun used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) by the former international forward Junghyun Lee (191-1987) did not help to save the game for Seoul Thunders . Naturalized American guard Justin Gutang (191-1997, college: Skyline JC) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Seoul Knights maintains first position with 26-7 record. Seoul Thunders lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 22 games lost.
